Has the current firearms / ammo / component situation changed your shooting habits ?

I have good supply of everything. What I don't have is good legs---I don't last long standing at firing line at indoor range.
I don't care to drive 70 miles to a outdoor state range as the weather is more cool than I enjoy. I reload ammo I don't shoot much & clean up the reloading room. This keep me out of trouble & gives me something to do.
MI deer season coming fast---ENJOY

Nope, saw this coming months ago. First I stocked up on ammo, then bought a loading press, and a year's supply of components. Good for 2 years.

Not really; my work schedule (due to COVID) has done more to keep me away from the range than the current ammo situation, and my club has been closed for lead reclamation and range reconstruction for the past couple of months anyway. I have used the time to do a bit more reloading, and some of that is new. I never reloaded for 9x19 before, and now I am. I was well stocked with powder and primers; found some bullets and range brass to get started. Range is supposed to open again shortly, so hope to get back to it before Thanksgiving.

I finally made it to the range last Fri and put 100 rds through my Ruger P95. I got some good practice in and had the range to myself. I wish I brought more rounds with me.

(I actually brought a 3rd box of what I thought was old Wolf ammo, but was filled with 22lr. Go figure)

I havent been to the indoor range in about 9 months. Between the close confines of the range and the lack of practice ammo on the shelves, I havent felt the desire to go.

I have largely switched my practice to HD firearms as the only outdoor public range is run by the DNR with a 25 yard minimum. Too far to train with a handgun for self defense in a realistic manner, but I have been able to become more confident with my 12 gauge. Truthfully, I'm having a better time with my long arms. 25 yards is still long for a shotgun for HD, but you really get a good idea how it will behave at house length range.

I did sneak up to about 10 yards while no one else was using the range to get a feel for what handgun I still shot well enough to deem safe to carry. I shot a few magazines through my 1911, Shield .45 and a couple of cylinders of .38 through my 686+ and Charter Arms Undercover. Surprisingly, I shot the revolvers better. I actually settled on sticking with the little pocket .38 UC. Im not driving tacks with it, but I feel pretty good how I shot. Plus I feel that I can easily carry that gun in pretty much every wardrobe option I will be sporting the next couple of months.

My guess is that I will probably let whatever happens politically shake out and pick up shooting once things level off.

Truth be told, I'm not too worried about shooting as a hobby. I have easier/cheaper hobbies that I enjoy a bit more. Still, nice to know that I can still handle a firearm well enough.

It's beginning to effect me.

Like many, I stocked up years ago. In Jan of 2019, I began reloading and knowing the 2020 election was coming, I began stocking up on supplies as well. I shot on the reg all spring and into summer...but I'll admit that the mass shortages are starting to get to me. I'm feeling a silly guilt now when I go out and shoot a bunch. I've taken my weekly trips down to every other. With winter approaching, I may step that down even further.

With the way the election is going, this drought may get much, MUCH worse...which means I'll not be shooting much spring 2020 either.

I haven't been to a gun store since at least March. I stopped in the LGS to see if their gunsmith could take a look at an issue I was having with my kit 1911 build that was leaving me stumped. This was just when things were starting to get hairy and the worried clerk (reminds me alot of Ken Hackathorn) asked me if the 1911 was my only gun. I said no. He wasn't accepting any work orders so I had to go far out of my way to find one. When my state partially opened back up, I saw lines wrapping around every gun store I drove by. I decided I didn't want to get a new gun or ammo that would take away from a new buyer until things cooled down.

I haven't shot anything since the outbreak. Because I'm a senior with issues I've have been on furlough from my job as a gun salesman since March. Since I'm not working to avoid Covid it wouldn't be proper to use the range while my younger coworkers are deemed "essential workers".

The ammo shortage sucks but since I can't really shoot anyway it hasn't hurt too much. I am itching to try out the new SP5 though. I've been staring at it for a month.

Much more conservative in my shooting. Fortunately I have some ammo in reserve. There is a limit in how much I may shoot so that I have an adequate supply.

The venerable and cheap .22 has helped me out a lot.
