Get yourself one of these "pellet pens" for your ammo. They're do much nicer than carrying a tin of pellets.
Last week, I picked up a pellet pen, as recommended by Armored Farmer, along with a couple of tins of pellets. On Sunday, an old friend and I finally got out to the farm to do some shooting. We took a variety of guns, including the Hatsan. The pellet pen greatly reduced my fumbling while loading. Thanks for the tip, AF.
I, too, could see shooting that a lot. No experience with Hatsan but keep hearing good things about them. Thanks for the update. You planning on posting a picture of it? That would be nice.
Sadly, 2250Rem, I did not think to take any pictures. I just set myself a reminder to take some soon this evening. Of course, if I'm already out in the yard taking pictures, I'll have to put a few rounds through it, right?
Aaaaannnnyyyywwaaaayyy . . . . We had a bunch of different guns we wanted to shoot, maybe 6-8, so only put about 15-20 rounds through the Hatsan. This time, however, I had more distance and time to work with than the last time I shot it. It's got the adjustable cheek riser, but I don't think I'll get much use out of that. I was perfectly happy with it screwed all the way down into the lowest position. Maybe I'll use it if I ever put the scope on, but there's no guarantee that I'll ever get around to that.
I set a yellow bell pepper about 30 yards out and proceeded to destroy it. We also shot some apples and lettuce. As I mentioned above, I haven't put the scope on yet. TBH, I'm not sure I want to, either. The iron sights (ok, fiber optic) are dead-on zeroed for that distance and easy to see, even for my old eyes. I think I hit the pepper 100%, and that's unusual for me. And from the reaction of the various fruits and vegetables, it's got enough oomph to be useful for small pest control.
I just looked at Hatsan's site, and they're still running the refurb deal ($129.99). The promo deal is apparently over, and price as gone back up to $214.99. I'm glad I bought when I did.
TLDR: I like it!
