Have you ever found "The one"?

"I always find "The One", til I find the next one "

I with this guy, although my CZ SP-01 has become my favorite gun at this time.

My Browning HP is/was my first handgun-but the first $10,000 takes it, complete with a letter attesting that it was owned by Blackhawknj.

centerfire: the Norinco SKS.

While mine is still relatively new to me, mine may be "it" as well. It shoots pretty darn well for what it is, stripper clips load as fast as detachable mags, it doesn't "look evil." Maintenance is easy, ammo is cheap. So far I'm liking everything about it except the oddball front sight that needs the specific Norinco style adjustment tool.

The handgun I'll probably never give up is my Ruger KP90.

Defenatly my Norinco SKS. When I got it it was a complete mess and came with synthetic fiberglass filled (crap that is heavier than wood) stock.:scrutiny: I have slowly got it cleaned and trimmed around the edges and am now looking for a stock wood stock and all the original fixings.;) I love thins gun and the only other that comes close to touching it thus far is my Ruger 10/22 which has been by my side fo a long while.

S&W 3rd gen 9mm. Had a 5906, traded it, always wished I had kept it. Got me a 5926 and its my daily carry. Ill never go without another one as long as I have the mental capacity to make that decision.

When I first read your topic I thought,"yeah, she married me 46 years ago" but then I realized you were talking about guns.;) I would have to say my Browning A5 Belgian(1956) that my Dad left me. All the others can come and go.

Marlin 336 in .30-30

This gun is very, very rarely more than few steps from me.

It rides in the backseat of the truck

It rides on the 4 wheeler

It rides on the horse

It goes with me hunting

It goes with me trapping

It rests next to the bed at night

It's fed a consistent diet of 150gr ammunition

It's taken more animals every year than most hunters take in their lifetime

It's defended my home on two occasions, saved my life once, and will always be their when I need it

I've put well over 10,000 rounds through it, several thousand of those were hand loaded by me and dear friends that worked up new loads specifically for it

When I have it in my hands, it almost feels like an extension, I've never missed with it. It's paired to a Nikon 4x32 scope.

The gun has flaws, bluing worn thin, dings in the stock, and even a chip out of the stock near the receiver. The scope tube has scratches on it, but the glass is as good as when it came out of the box.

I've owned several different rifles over the years, always trying the flavor of the month, at least when the extra cash was available, they're all gone now except the Marlin

This 336 has my respect in a way that few material objects could ever hope to. There are many, many 336 rifles in the world, but this one belongs to me and I belong to it.

If I could only choose one, it would be my SiG-P556 SBR ... I've bought and built several others but its the one that no matter what I want to shoot, it goes to the range too. Some day it may fall out of favor but in my 35 years of shooting none have stayed on top as long as this one has.

Now that's what I'm talking about!

I agree with Mr. Blue, I always love "the one" until the next "one" comes along. Right now its a bodyguard 380 but there is a gun show coming up here in a few weeks.........

Randall left handed Service Model. They didn't make many, and my kids can sell it when I'm gone, if they won't allow it in my coffin.

Really? Never in 10,000+ rounds?

I suppose the quote, "never missed any animals that I've shot at with it" would ring more true, but then it messes up the iambic pentameter that was flowing with the rest of the post.

Granted, sighting in the two scopes it's had over the years, there were misses, when I was toying with the idea of a 300 yard .30-30 cartridge, there were misses, but when it was going to put food on the table, I've never missed, but I've also never taken a careless shot at an animal either.

My Rossi .357 snubbie has always been that 'one'. Always had to have it with me, it was my first carry piece. Unfortunately it's time to move on, so she won't be the one for very much longer :)

649

I bought my S&W 649 Bodyguard new in 1994. I have carried 1911's, Glocks etc. but always wind up back with the Smith. I'm at work now, and have a P3AT in my pocket, but the 649 is in a cabinet near by. It's no doubt my go-to carry gun.
