Have you ever had to watch a Youtube vid or ask someone about how to close a newly purchased knife?

The Okapi seems a bit cruder than the kudu. Name may be appropriate, however, as the critter has elements of giraffe and zebra, and the knife has elements of the navaja and the laguiole. LT was known to borrow freely from other cultures, but in so doing acquainted us with some patterns that had served well for many generations. He may be remembered as the George Leonard Herter of the knife biz.

@ilbob thanks, I wonder if the price drop means they are revising the lineup with the new owner. The drop forged survival knife is back in stock at midway, but the SRK and bushman are still back ordered.

No idea. Amazon has random price drops that last for hours to days on random items all the time. I have no idea how they decide what to drop the price on or how long to leave the price lower. often by the time you find out about it the price drop is gone.

I think that was one of the very best qualities of CS.

About 10 years ago I received one of CS's catalogues. I was impressed. I passed it onto an old college professor of mine who taught history. He collected a number of things including edged weapons. He used to bring knives, swords, muskets, etc. into class. I figured he would enjoy the catalogue, but I didn't expect him to buy anything.

He later he told me that he had bought several pieces that helped to "fill holes" in his collection. I always get a grin out of that when it comes to mind.
