Not including bills and necessary stuff, have you ever decided you wanted to spend your discretionary money on something non-gun? What did you get?

I think I'm going to get body armor for sure, but not sure if I want to build up a Sig 229 Sport, get a SmartPhone (cell phone/PDA combo) or a custom titanium/carbon fiber banjo

What gun purchases have you put aside and what did you get instead?

I have a weakness for anything related to computers. I have only bought 1 firearm in 4 years, but have bought a few thousand dollars of computer gadgets and upgrades.

But i am thinking that when I come back from this tour in Iraq, that it will be time to adjust the balance a little :)

Valentine-One radar detector. A bit pricey, at a little over $400, but worth every penny if it saves me. :)

Kind of like some other things, eh? ;)

I put off buying my Ruger 22/45 in favor of a DVD burner for my PC. This was before they sudden nosedive in prices for DVD burners. *sigh*

Our Roughneck 16ft. bass boat to do battle with the evil assault bass. Must be well rounded is all expensive hobbies.

Non Gun??????? UUUHHH. Gun cases, Surefires, reloading equipment, gun belts, holsters, Militec-1, long gun cases...... OH I KNOW! Royal Robbins 5.11 clothes. I'll stop here.

Edit to add: Diamonds and gold so that my wife will stay!:D

Yes, race car has priority, otherwise I'd have twice as many guns and shoot 5 times a week. To try to get to both I've cut out sodas, cable TV, and women. :D

yes:

military collectors items, nice clothing, books, entertainment and fun, it's
good to do something different once in a while, guns can be very addictive.

Yep.

I have waaaaay too many expensive hobbies. NASCAR collectibles, action figures, books, chess sets, pewter wizards & dragons, Legos, Model RRs, autographed photos, computer games, medieval weapons, WWII militaria...

Some day, I'll have to grow up and stop playing with toys. Nah! :)

Yup. did a complete engine rebuild instead of getting a barret. (think "the works" aluminum heads, dual quad carbs, stroked crank, heavy cam and every little thing in between, oh, and a little button that says GO BABY GO) then the week after the motor went back into my ride, one of ohios finest nails me for 90 over.....:fire:

Some day, I'll have to grow up and stop playing with toys.

That's the one great thing about being a man, even if you grow up,everybody knows that we still play with toys.

The older the boys the bigger the toys. :neener:

I can say with great certainty; Not Recently. Last few months, I've been all about guns. Eventually I'll get bored, or I'll run out of money, which ever comes first.

Tactical Road Assault Bicycle, complete with carbon firber
(2003 Jamis Comet, $1499)
And the Uber Tactical Steel Cyclocross assault bike.
(So far about $600 into it...but who's counting?)

l've been buying more knives lately than guns. I've also bought a few coins as of late. Guns still fasinate me, but knives have quite an appeal also.
