Having trouble deciding: revolver or semi auto

I put some of the Thai eBay grips on mine. The recoil with 32 longs is nothing. Yeah, using them like reloadable 22's is a very good idea. They would be great for small game. The DA trigger on mine is pretty stiff. I keep intending to take it to a local gunsmith for a trigger job, and keep procrastinating. 327's don't recoil a lot in this revolver from my point of view, but I do shoot heavier calibers frequently.

Jason, what others have said about the barrel length of the revolvers reminds me of the problems I faced. While the 6" barrel should be expected to give you more accuracy and muzzle velocity, that might be offset by the "nose heavy" nature of the gun. My hands are only of average size (glove size L) and I tried several makes and models with barrels ranging from 2.5" to 8". I decided I didn't want to sacrifice accuracy and muzzle velocity from the 2.5" but found 6" and longer wanted to pull the barrel down, esp. when loaded with 6 - 158 gr. bullets. The 4" barrel on the GP-100 worked out to have a nice balance, even with the 158 grainers. And I'm reloading both .38 Sp. & .357 loads. I'm using 158 gr. bullets (SJHP & JSP-FN) on both with the only difference being the powder. Good luck !

I have lots of revolvers.

For quick "pull from the holster and shoot" drills, a 2"or 3" barrel is the best.

For accuracy out to 15 yards, though not quite as fast, a 4" barrel is very nice.

A 6" barrel is a little slower, but my accuracy will improve.

6", pretty good for range, and pretty good for HD.

7.5" plus, best for range or hunting.

Really good for CC:

Preferred for HD:

Amazing at the range:

I would ask, where do you live? Politics are rapidly leaking into many states and limits on mag sizes and what and what is not deemed an "assault weapon"
may have a bearing on your decision. I am a realist and practice a lot with my two L-frame 686+ revolvers.
