"I received the information through my intel sharing group. It was apparently found on a skell in New York that had ties to the Jamaican Posse. It hangs in side the pants like the picture shows and then locks into the weapon so it is secure. It is made from any thin metal (coat hanger ) type material in a matter of minutes. I haven't seen this anywhere else, but as simple as it is to make, it's bound to catch on.

Another popular one I've seen up here is carrying the pistol in the toe of a sock which is then slid down the pants leg but folded over under the belt; this lets them pull it out of their pants in a hurry, ditch the whole thing in a flash if they need to, AND it keeps the spent casings inside the sock.

What about the OSS technique of a piece of string made into a loop around the belt? Easy to dispose of too. Yank on the loose end of the knot, it becomes undone and discretely drop.

Appreciate your passing that one along, George. Hadn't heard about it before. "String holster" and sock stash, yeah, but not this one.

I think I'll see if I can copy those illustrations, enlarge them, write a little copy, and post a bulletin for our field troops.

You know, if a cop, having viewed such a bulletin, noted a wire hook over a critter's waistband . . . I really THINK one could articulate probable cause to believe a thug was armed.

I don't think the banger that's going to be using one of these is overly concerned about dinging the crown or scratching the bore...

I'll be...how many of have made the same thing as a makeshift "hanger" for tools,fan belts,and misc. I have a couple in my safe, in my closet, and oh my - I have one on my desk for cables and wires.

I've seen something similar called the "Mexican Loop". You take a piece of nylon cord or boot lace & tie the ends together. Then loop it around & through itself on a belt & use it to hold your handgun IWB (w/o it dropping through your pant leg.

Either AH or GUNS had an article recently on how to do this. It's not a bad carry for someone who needs an expedient holster, but I doubt it's too secure. I'd spring for an Uncle Mike's cheapie first...

Hmmm.

You could do one of these in kydex. With a rolled end for shoving up the barrel, and a J-hook...?

Yup. They CAN be done in kydex. You can even twist the heated kydex into the bore such that you can "set" the gun's carry angle at whatever you want. And the single belt hook at the top can be of the "stealth" variety: over the pants upper edge, down between the belt and pants, sideways under a belt loop. More or less nothing is exposed, and it's fully tuckable. A couple of free alpha-test versions are "on the streets" now; if I actually start making them, they'll be about $10 or so.

I will NOT make them for Glocks. Period. True DA trigger actions only and DAO strongly preferred. With no trigger cover whatsoever, this wouldn't be safe with a small 1911 or whatever. Or Glocks. Sorry. Ain't gonna. Can't make me. Fugedduboudit.

I don't think this is safe with any trigger under the 9lb range.

I just did a proper holster yesterday that was of a different design than my previous. It has an open bottom because the guy wanted one rig that could take different barrel lengths of the same Glock frame. Came out quite well. As long as the gun weight isn't too crazy, it may become my new standard rig.
