The problem starts when a few members like to toss this out, "cases do not have headspace" without any explanation which serves to do nothing more than confuse the new enthusiast. ...The general forum consensus is refer to such as cartridge headspace gauge and be done with it. Playing a game of semantics with a new reloader or hand loader with questions is not a good way to teach.

You are absolutely right as this whole fuss is of absolutely no value to anyone, does not help anyone, does not advance knowledge, does not correct a past error, all it does is cause trouble.

You would like something better? Better than what? I have never agreed with L. Willis, Sinclair or Hornady when they labeled their ‘head space gages’ as being head space gages. I thought the practice was deceptive and I suggested anyone that wanted their money back should for any reason should get their money back, simply because they purchased a comparator that was advertised as a head space gage.


Goofy Dick and Sunray are not interested in information or education, rather they interested in manipulation. They like nothing more than to “kick the ant hill over and watch the ants scurry”. That Sir, is a pretty harsh condemnation of a fellow THR member. Also, referring to anyone as "it" is just plain bad manners.

In the interest of fair play, I intend to read through all of that members 11,000+ posts. Rest assured that if I can find even ONE that refutes the accuracy of your above statements, I intend to return to this thread and lambast you most severely!

While Slamfire was rough on Guffey (And not particularly "High Road" while doing it), he's pretty much right that Guffey's posts tend to just sidetrack threads instead of help. He tells us how wrong and ignorant we all are without trying to help the OP in clear, easy to understand posts. Arguing semantics instead of trying to help.

A good debate is fine, if it is geared to help the OP understand a problem, instead of just trying to make ones self sound important.
