Heart Warming Experience at the Range Today

If a woman can learn to drive a car, use a computer, and operate household appliances, I'm pretty sure they can be taught to operate a Glock 19 without too much trouble.

you are drawing conclusions based on your own opinions, saltandbattery. you have NO IDEA whether she was ''pressured'' to buy that gun by a salesman or anyone else. Its not as if Glocks aren't one of, if not THE best selling self defense firearm on the market today. you are making the assumption she was pressured into buying a certain gun, because its not the gun you would choose personally. you have NO OTHER basis on which to draw such a conclusion, as it certainly wasn't stated outright.

and you are assuming that she walked into the store ONLY to buy a glock. some body like you was behind the counter. nothing wrong with glocks it is not my choice. that 410 shotgun with buckshot does hardly kick. very slight. there are u tube videos on it. if you feel good about your glock and practice it is the best choice for you

I've shot plenty of rounds through a .410 in my day. what i've seen leaves me less than impressed in the role of self-defense, as does pretty much ANY shotgun in a pgo configuration. while not extreme, a .410 DOES recoil, and does so to the point of being uncomfortable to shoot in PGO configuration....certainly moreso than any Glock 9mm i've fired...its not as if the recoil from a glock in any way uncontrollable, even for a novice, as evidenced by the woman's daughter, who, within minutes of being introduced to guns, was putting rounds on target with the Glock. I don't see the learning curve being so difficult that even a novice cannot become at least basically sufficient with a minimum of practice...more is better of course, but this duo shows that its not difficult to learn to shoot a handgun if one has a mind to, and the glock can fit multiple roles in a single package...targets, home defense, concealed carry. FWIW, i know of a local case where a woman put a .410 in her husbands mouth and pulled the trigger...and he lived to tell the story.
