I figured that since it was a rifle you might be able to load stuff to higher pressures without blowing stuff up. Also, what is the heaviest bullet you can get to go transsonic in a 45 ACP case and not run out of room for hte powder?

This is a 9" barrel weapon with a suppresor. I basically want to see how heavy I can get the projectiles without going below factory 230g velocity.

I would be interested in this also. I have fired +p rounds from my Oly, but nothing higher in pressure than that. No .45 Super, for example. My Oly upper sits on a Cavalry Arms MKII polymer lower, and even with the 8 ounce buffer, I am not sure how much it would stand.

The heaviest bulet I have loaded in .45 ACP cases is the Hunter's Supply 275 grain cast bullet sold by Midway. Mine weigh an honest 174 grains. If you seat them with the crimp groove just barely covered by the brass, they will feed well in a Gov't model, and I have fired several through my CavOly also.

There may be other heavy bullet options, but that is the heaviest one I have any experience with.

I have loaded the 240 grain Sierra JHP bullets in .45 ACP cases, and there is data for this bullet on Alliant's website.

My other suggestion would be to look at the Rainier, and maybe Berry plated bullets. I think that they make a 250 grain SWC style for the .45 Colt which might possibly work in the ACP case.

If that doesn't do it, then I am all out of suggestions.
