I searched for 'Kitty' before I posted this to make sure it would not be a duplicate. I thought that would have been mentioned in the post, it being the CNN headline and all. I'd apologize for screwing up if I hadn't taken every precaution in advance, so, in this particular case, I won't.
 
$250 Wow! I'll paint them for half price, but I can't make that 1911 look like a glock. :)
 
I remember reports from over 20 year ago about LA gangs painting guns in this manner to try to fool cops. It's nothing new. Mass media was alleging the same problems back then.

Since this idea has been around for decades, you'd think it would have caught on by now and be a huge widespread problem. I personally have never seen anybody ever using a real gun painted like a toy. Also, when they display "arsenals" on TV after busting criminals, how many brightly painted guns have you seen? I have personally seen zero.

I don't see how a pink AK-47 would give a policeman pause. The circumstances would determine the seriousness of an encounter. However, I admit I could be wrong because I have no personal experience with being confronted with a pink AK-47.

My girlfriend wants a pink Glock. If that gets her to shoot, so be it. Who says a gun has to be black? The women in my life who want to shoot do not get excited, like I do, about nice wood and blued steel.
 
At the Gander Mountain in Geneva they are selling pink Taurus .380 automatics and .22 kiddie rifles of the same color and look as the KelTec in the article straight from the factory. Cops are going to have to figure out how to deal with this at some point or another.

You mean, the gun color hate crime reduction act of 2008. The libs always throw the word hate in there to jazz it up and make it sound like they really mean business.
 
Yeah because you know those kids drawn to all the bright colors. And what is wrong with youth shooting sports? Anschutz has been making colorful stocks since 1990s. Swirls of pink, blue, red, green, whatever you want.

And they are all serious $$$ competition .22 firearms with laminate stocks for olympians (and aspiring olympians).

CNN is just another liberal band wagon.

"Unfortunately it is legal" to paint a gun? Who the heck are YOU to tell ME what color my stuff can be?

I'm finding it tough to think of a suitable comment that remains High Road.
 
Can I add that there are like ZERO toy guns that look like guns anymore? Also, I'm pretty sure most "kids" aren't going to be able to handle a heavy weapon anyway. Moreover, if you're old enough to no better, you won't point anything resembling a gun at a cop.
