Hope everyone out there is haveing a great day! I just got wind of your forum today and wanted to stop in and introduce myself.

Here I am:

You are welcome to visit our family site, Clan Ironhand; however, be forewarned, we are not photographers, lol!

I use the name Mama06 because I have six great kids...although folks from other firearm related boards often think the 06 is for ought six. ;)

I have been a shooter for a long time, and I try to stay active politically in RKBA issues as well as personally teaching others in my area, especially other women, the importance of our RKBA in this great counrty.

Since I hate to go to a new place empty handed, here is a list of links, mostly for my 'sisters in arms' I thought you may enjoy. I got these from a friend on another message board and I found them to be useful.

Welcome to THR Mama06,

I suppose that if I had used your naming convention I would be Papa06. I, too, have 6 kids, 3 girls and 3 boys, ages 4 - 16. You'll enjoy this forum. As a relative newcomer I can honestly say that you won't find a nicer group of strangers anywhere.

Welcome to THR! ;)

As has been tradition, new guy buys the beer :cool: but w/ all these new members lately I've gotta watch my alcohol intake :D

Thank you all for the welcome! Wow, that was fast! If anyone is interested in links...I have at least one for any occasion, lol! As a matter of fact, here's a fun one for you all. Some of you may have seen it before.

http://selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=test01 Which Firearm Are You? (The quiz is almost 1/2 way down the page.)

DorGunR: I was wondering if you were you! Good to see a familiar face! :)

MaterDei: We also have 3 of each (B,G,B,G,B,G)...ages 5-19. Good to see I'm not the only one here with a larger than average family. Aren't kids the greatest?

BTW, I was an FN P90 on the 'which firearm are you' test...

Welcome to THR ! Thanks for the links!

Another guy here. Now unlike P95 whom is ten yrs older and an self proclaimed "old phart"...I prefer to be a CWG. Curmudgeon with Guns, not age, gender specific.

Oh took the test, I'm : 1)Dragunov Sniper Rifle
2)Colt M1911A1

WELCOME, The more the merrier, only got 4 kids but 2 of them show up here.

#1 Desert Eagle

#2 Ruger Super Redhawk

Don't like either one, hmmmmmm

Hahaha! ..... cop out sm!!!!:D

Checked out the test also ... #1 (surprised here) was Beretta M92 .... hmmm, not me at all .... #2 was better, that was IMI UZI and #3 was Mac-10 ... so, all I can say is .. a VERY aberrant first result!! But gettin better!!
:p

"ought six" or '06 is often the abbreviation for the 30-06 caliber. Used in both written or spoken form.

Sorry, we get lazy over here, but I must compliment you on your use and understanding of our language.

----
Hey P95Carry, whaddaya mean "cop out" ? CWG sounds and looks better --especially when a new member, a lady mind you is introduced... Great!... we get a new person and Chris uses the "phart" word...You ain't from around these parts huh? :D

And there is nothing wrong with a Mom of six being a CWG...she OTOH I doubt wants to be "your word" :p

pssst Chris...I can shoot my match gun better than you...betcha

Welcome indeed......good to see more ladies around here lately.......looks less like a locker room(smells better too...):D

Hey! Welcome to THR. And you bring links. Nice.

I threw in for the test, it's been awhile since I did it, ended up being HK- PSG1

:D

SM, I might be full of it (and usually am) but I thought it was 30 Caliber, originally designed in 1906, hence 30-06.

????? At least that is what I was told.

RTFM

Welcome Mama06, but keep those kids quiet! :D
I've got 4 of them little curtain climbers myself. 13 to 4, B,G,B,G.
We're always glad to get some new members around here. I think this is the only place left I can come to have some "quiet time"!

Welcome-and thanks for your immediate contributions! A word of warning- I notice you live in Tn. and have six kids. There's a guy named Oleg who lives there too and he carries a loaded.....camera at all times. Be forewarned-he is shameless and will catch you in unflattering and compromising positions. Just kidding Oleg(you know we love you)and nice to have you on board O6!!

pssst Chris...I can shoot my match gun better than you...betcha
Steve .... I reckon that is very likely .. I mean ''CWG'' has gotta excel over ole phart!! Hey, I was just funnin ya in that earlier post!

So - just in case I might have a snowflake's chance in hell with a match shoot .... let's be knowing what your match piece would be? Then I'll see if I can find something suitable. All we need then is for us both to drive a lotta miles and ''get to it''!!:p

I'd relish the chance to try ... gotta say.:)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
''Pistols at Dawn'' (and no one knows what Dawn did wrong to get shot! She never deserved it.)
''So - who will be our 'second'?''
Hel - I dunno - we ain't gotta 'first' yet!''
Hello and Welcome to THR!!!!!
took the test and I am
#1 IMI UZI
#2 MAC90
not to bad!!:D
Colt 1911
Beretta M92
Dragunov Sniper Rifle
Glock 17
IMI Uzi
Franchi SPAS-12
Well at least they got #1 right
the rest should have been
S&W N frame
Barret M82A1
S&W 559
Thompson 1928
Mossberg 590
and yes '06 or 'aught-six ('aught is short for naught meaning zero) is slang for the .30-06 cartridge aka Caliber 30 ball M2.
As opposed to the original .30-03 cartridge originally designed for the U.S. Rifle M1903 (Springfield) (.30-03 has a longer neck and heavier bullet)
