I would like to add a tac light to my 835 Tactical Turkey (lol, that cracks me up every time I type it). I want it to double as an HD shotty. Dont want to drop $200 plus on a replacement fore end, just a simple effective light. What are my options? I dont want a pressure switch if it can be avoided, just a clicking tail cap that I can manually turn on when needed. I used a Pentagon light with a simple rail mount on a Bushy M4 once, about $110 IIRC. Wouldnt mind going even cheaper if possible.

I put an Innova T1 LED on a Mossberg 930SPX with a Tacstar clamp, all for about $75. The T1 is 4" long and has just the tail cap switch and puts out 85 lumens. So far, it has held up to 300 rounds of 12 ga. The only thing I would suggest is to blue loctite the fasteners on the clamp so they don't work loose.

Would that mount to the barrel or the mag tube? Currently, mine only has the factory magazine, no extension yet. It also is the camo model, so I would have to be careful about the finish(not the end of the world, either way). The light will only be on the weapon to test for function. I will take it off when practicing or hunting.

I have mine attached to the mag extension, but you can attach it to the barrel just as easily. Another suggestion is to use electrical tape under the clamp. The tape prevents the clamp from scratching the barrel, provides for additional shock resistance, and the clamp seems to be more secure. You cannot even see the tape under the clamp. some others on this forum have also used bicycle tube rubber under the clamp.

I am searching the net trying to find what I need now. Dont know if I want to mount it directly to the barrel or try and fing a mag extension and mount it on that. Are all 835 parts interchangeable? Not sure if there are any differences in the mag tube on the Tac Turkey and standard 835s.

I think the Laserlyte Tri Rail mounts is the way to go. I have one on my 870 and Moss 930 SPX and they look nice and work well. They run about $20 or less most places. If you have a 1.5" space it will work. You can mount it on a mag tube ext also. You can use a Streamlight M-3 style flashlight or any flashlight that will mount on a weaver style rail. I have a made in Spain LedWave Z5 an M-3 style light on mine and it is compact with 65 lumens it's all I need. It has held up well. It only cost $55.
