help buying a good Ar15 barrel

where online can I find a good ar15 barrel thats in stock or ok to backorder.

I'de like a match 20" or 24" chrome lined barrel.

I have had a 20" and a 24" stainless from model1, which are E.R.Shaw, and as far as accuracy they arent anything to brag about.

Any brand names and where to get them would be a huge help.

Chrome lined barrels are going to be inherently less accurate than the same quality stainless, so you should probably be looking for another stainless, unless you want a barrel which is just as inaccurate as your last one, but easier to clean.

As for brands and where to get them, I don't know much about match stuff.

I can't recall ever seeing a 24" chrome lined AR barrel. I belive RRA makes/has a 20" chrome lined barrel model but it may have to be back ordered the way things are.

i know ive seen a 20" chrome lined. yea Im looking for accuracy. it doesnt have to be chrome lined. I didnt know stainless was more accurate.

Take your pick form any of these sources, for max accuracy skip the chrome lined bbl and go for stainless.

I just ordered a 20" Lothor Walther Med Hvy bbl this morning from Superior Barrels. Unfortuneately they're sold out already. I've had my name on their waiting list for a month, just happened to check my email this am before I headed to work. Had an email heads-up from them that the bbls were in. Took the time to place an order, checked this afternoon when I got home from work....sold out already! Their bbl's come with a matched bolt, this bbl was $350. Try shop.superiorbarrels.com or rainierarmament.com. Rainier will have Whiteoak bbls too. You'll probably have to put your name on a waiting list on these sites though, everyone seems sold out right now. You can also keep checking on AR15.com in their equipment exchange, lots of wholesalers/private individuals list bbls for sale. Good luck! Greg

yea I saw that Lothar Walther
comes with a match bolt and that would be great. I already have a chrome lined 16" and its more accurate then my 20" stainless E.R.Shaw barrel. thats why I dont want anything else to do with them. Im pretty sure Ill go with a stainless 20". and those Lothor Walthers have great reviews. Im going to the gunshow this weekend to dump that E.R.Shaw off on someone. Its a complete upper that has no FA. Im sure it will go fast at the gunshow. it will probably sell in the line ot get in.
I guess if I spring for the Lothor Walther Ill have to monitor my email closely and order as soon as I get the email. Ill post on how the feeding frenzy goes at the gunshow this weekend. maybe they will have some good barrels for sale,,, lol, yea right

I have not been able to shoot on a good day, read no wind, but have been able to shoot 1.25" groups @ 100 yds in 15-20 mph winds. This is with factory PP ammo. I am going to try to go this weekend if we can get a break in weather and fire's. The range I go to is 40,000 acres about 15,000 have burnt in the last month.
