I have a full size stainless stell colt 1911 which is polished. It has the flat mainspring housing but I prefer the arched housing. I am having trouble finding one that is polished. Doesnt matter if it is serrated or smooth or stainless steel or aluminum, as long as it is polished. Anyone have any idea who might sell them?

Get yourself a fine Scotch-Bright pad, and some Flitz and polish it yourself!

Would take 10-15 minutes on a small part like that.

Too easy to mess it up with a power tool. Many edges and shapes surfaces. Usually better off taking your time (many hours) and buffing a firearm by hand. Doesn't sound plausible, but it is very possible to make flat spots on steel, even with buffing.

Both guns were polished by hand using a cotton cloth rag. Takes a bit of time and effort but I love the results.

I've used Mother's Mag Polish on stainless guns and parts. Works if you want a bright finish. Follow up with either Renaissance or Johnson's paste wax. I've also used Mother's on blued guns, but one must be very careful to take off only the surface crud. Mother's is lightly abrasive and can take off the blue if you aren't careful. Wax protects the blued finish as well.
