Help finding a pistol

Besides I could always send it in to get a replying or even duracoat.. So that's fine
They don't do that (replying?) for free.

A $used one + $refinishing + $shipping both ways will cost you more $$$ then a new one $costs to start with.

A 92 has horrible accuracy?

I think that is shooter related or a lemon.... My 92's

Taurus and Beretta both Drill tacs... I'm a pretty bad pistol shooter, but that series of handguns. Is not inaccurate.

Can you guys link me to a sight were I can find a used 226?

I tried sarco but it says call to order..no catalog

I ment reblueing. Spell check is horrible on my iPad.

Well a friend of mines dad would do it for me.. He has done it to a few guns... Maby $80
For duracoat

The 92 a friend of mine had that I've herd that from.. He has a trade in Taurus p92 in SS. it's from Porto Rico? We're the police used it

Wideners has some P226s for about $475. They're a bit more expensive than Sarco, but they seem to have a bit better quality guns. They're also supposedly better to work with from a buyer's prospective. They also have several P6s which are supposed to be nice, but they're single stack so it won't meet your "high capacity" requirement.

Sarco isn't the easiest to just browse through online, but if you call them, you can usually get a hold of someone. They're also very....generous, with the grading of their guns. A general rule of thumb is to take what they grade the gun as and lower it one level. It's not a bad thing, just something to be aware of if you buy from them.
They also used to have some 228s for a good price, so if you're at all interested you might want to ask about those too (I'm a big fan of the 228 :D).

I hear so many good things about 228 & 226

I accualy was just pm'd to check out the fnp9

Looks nice I hear amazing things about it
Pluse 3 clips?

Sounds like a hell of a deal

Need to go pick one of and inspect it

You might consider a Stoeger Cougar. One of the best bangs for your buck IMO. Very, very high quality, very reliable, and very accurate.

And since you stated:

I'm looking to carry ...and i don't like small pistols..eventualy I'll get a small bersa thunder 9mm for ccw but I'm looking for home defence right now and a fun gun with a decent kool factor.

You also might consider a Bersa Thunder HC9 Pro. It is the big brother (17+1 capacity, 4.2" barrel) to the UC9 and will be on the same platform for learning/training. These also have a high bang for your buck.

For more info on the Bersa:

I have a P95 and an sr9c and love them both. 1000s of trouble free rounds through both. If the decocker / hammer wasn't a must, the sr9 is a great looking full size 9 and when you go smaller you could get a sr9c and have 2 extra 17 round mags for the small one and an extra one for the big guy.

The Sig Sauer SP2022 is fantastic and fits your criteria! It is probably slightly less than traditional "full-size", but still cool.

Beretta 92 (used)
Taurus 92 (new)
Beretta PX4 storm... can get in .45, too.
EAA/Tanfoglio Witness... can get in .45, 10mm, and .38 super, too.

Obsolete? What about the 1911? That's 9 times as old as the ruger and you call the ruger obsolete?

Obsolete deosn't mean old, it means not as useful as more modern designs. The P95 is agood pistol. It just has terrible performance when you line it up against more modern designs like the SR9, XD, M&P, Glock etc. The DA/SA action is dieing off as well.

The 1911, while older, still has features that no other pistol can match. Thinnest fullsize .45, best trigger, safe action, low recoil.

My P95 was a great pistol when I was a newb, but I out grew it quickly and moved on to Glocks and 1911's.

Things I liked aboutmy P95:
+reliable
+durable
+low recoil
+accurate
+dirt cheap, they're only worth about $250 right now.
+very safe

Things I hated:
-slow to draw due to very stiff DA trigger pull. An SR9 can be drawn, and emptied into a target twice as fast as the P95.
-takes a ton of skill and patience to aim and shoot that DA trigger pull
-lots of floppiness to the trigger in SA mode.
-Huge. It's an open carry pistol, not a CCW.

It's a good beginners gun, I train newbs with it. It's low recoil and accuracy in SA mode give them quick confidence. I no longer explain DA/SA though. That's just a waste of time and confuses them. I just demonstrate DA/SA action and let them dry fire each mode themselfs. I try get them shooting a striker fired pistol or 1911as soon as possible so that they can see how much faster those types of pistols can clear an IDPA type stage.

I have concerns about training newbs with striker fired pistols. Reholstering takes extra caution and practice. If I had a fullsize 9mm 1911 I'd use that for starting out instead of the P95.

I've herd or STAR they make 1911 in 9mm with many same features. And there cheap...but the ones I find..r soo beat up they look half broken...

The p95 and sig seem to be winning the fight.

Any info on the fnp9?

The sig only comes with 1 clip and extra clips r like $40 a pop lol

Seems very expensive

The fnp9 comes with 3

Just wondering..anybody got info on the fnp9.

And how many clips come with the p95? R they extreamly expensive for extra clips?

Centrfire systems has the 5906 and the 6906 which many of us have purchased; I really do like mine and they feel good even after shooting my 1911.. Aimsurplus has the 9x18 Czech CZ-82 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F3CZ82 for $229 hand picked or $10 less if you are feeling lucky..... I do not own one but have thought about it!

I really don't like Makarov pistols.... The 9x18. If I can't find it in Walmart or a normal store it really not worth it to me..and I've never seen a store carry 9x18

WOW
then you aint been to many gun stores
all the GUN stores around here have it

then again, if you stick to 'sporting goods' stores
weellllll
have fun with the glock, glock, smith sig remchesters

I really can't recall ever seein it.....

Altho there is a chance I just miss it...

How are the ballistics of the 9x18?

It looks like a 380?

If you buy a gun you will own it for a long time so buy what you really like if you can only afford one. YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH A BERETTA 92 and varents offered.
It may be at the top of your price range but well worth the price. If you buy cheap you get cheap. I would stay away from anything EAA. Taurus makes a cheaper copy of Beretta but not the same quality. Check out GrabAGun.com for a good price on a Beretta.

I have several 9 mms among them Beretta,Ruger P89,CZ75 and a Sig 225. Of the lot I shoot the CZ best,Beretta is nest followed by the Ruger and the 225 is last.

I'll have to take another look at some used Barrettas..
The CZ75 I would love but I can't find them whatsoever. Gunbroker and guns America has some used one that are... In terrible shape.... If I could find a nice cz75 for under $400 I would be set on grabbing that. All steel..d/a s/a, reliable, cheap mags,9mm, used all over the world as a standerd sidearm for law enforcement, and based off the BHP(not a clone it just based off it), and I've shot a cz 75b before in .40.

Ugh..... I'm really torn between the sig pro, fnp9,cz74(if I can find a nice one for cheap), barretta 92fs(if I can find a good used one for cheap)

Back to the gunshops to hold and see what I like best.

Thing is I need to find another gun shop... I've been going into bizzar guns here in Reno.
And I go in and hold the guns..ask 100 questions. Then look around for 2 hours and leave... I think I'm annoying them... Cause I'm not buying and just holding guns and asking questions....lol

The sig only comes with 1 clip and extra clips r like $40 a pop lol

You may want to look at MecGar mags. They're the company that Sig outsources its mags to, so you're getting the same thing, just without "Sig Sauer" written on the side. They're usually between $20 and $25 each.
FWIW, MecGar supplies quite a few manufacturers with their "OEM" mags, so even if you wind up getting something else, it may be worth looking at their mags if they are any cheaper than the factory mags.

"My dad dosent carry a revolver anymore I think he carries a sig 226? 229? One of those. He's retiring in a year. He swears by the 5906. That's how I found that pistol."

Always listen to your dad!

Used 5906 at CDNN for 300(shipping and FFL will put it at +/-350.00) will still leave a lot left over for ammo.

Yea.. The gun shop buy here has a 5904(no more 5906s left)
Basicly they said its exactly the same just a blued finish...
Not a big deal altho this would not only be for part time carry and hd. But also if shtf. It's needs to be rugged and weather resistant to a point... From what little I know about pistols. I've herd can take normal gun oil and rup the steel down and it helps maintain it...

ATM I'm looking at a fnp9 i JUST got back from the gunshop. It fits perfectly in my hand..feels comfortable..reliable, easy to feild strip, trigger is awsome,

But my limit is 500

That things marked at 549. Pluse Brady and tax.

So around 720?...

If I could find one for 400... I'd be in 100%

Aswell I checked out a ruger... I liked it.. Just didn't feel right :(

And then. I finaly picked up a Makarov..... Let me start by saying I like the round.

The Double action is horrrrrible... It felt waaaayyyy to heavy.... More so then a revolver lol.
So that out of the question..

I plan on getting one in a couple weeks with my paycheck (new job I start tommarow)

But yea. I'm pretty much set on the Fnp9

Unless I can find a really nice 5906 lol (I'd love a lightly used 5906)

Stoeger Cougar compact 9mm is an awesome gun I have one, has a 3.6 barrel and is a decnt size gun. Very accurate and little recoil. Can't go wrong with one.
