I bought a speedfeed iv pistol grip stock for my benelli.

I can't figure out how to remove the stock!

The book has instructions for the other models, the ones where you remove the screws from the end of the buttstock.

However, my stock has a rubber pad at the end, and i see no screws in its surface. There are two hollow spots, but I don't want to damage the rubber sticking a phillips in unless i'm sure there's a screw in there.

the benelli with pg is what i want it to look like.

the other picture is what it looks like now.

neither gun is mine, i just stole them off gunbroker.

Just stick the screwdriver into the pad, no big deal. You really shouldn't bother with a 'pistol grip' it's one of those "tactical' gimmicks that's worthless.

More than likely there are Phillips head screws holding on the recoil pad, Simple hint lick your screwdriver before you insert it in to the holes, it will spin easier or a little lite oil but oil tends to break down rubber.

thank you all

this information helps.

I am replacing the stock not to be tacticool, but for two reasons, both having to do with the blade design of the benelli stock.

each time i fire it the blade cuts up and deep into my face, leaving me with quite the nasty bruise. I put a blackhawk pad onto it, which makes it nice and non-face pulverizing, but now my eyes are above the level of the sights.

thus i have two options - replace the sights with ones that are just slightly higher, or replace the stock with something that allows the face to sit a little lower.

i can't find raised sights (and i don't have the proper tools to remove them anyway), so i figured that the best option would be to change the stock. the speedfeed is just slightly lower than the benelli, and the alternative placing of the firing hand should also allow a better sight picture.

Two phillips head screws hold the pad on. Under the pad is a self locking nut and washer. Remove the nut (metric, of course) and washer, and the rear sling plate will come out too. I don't know if the new Speed Feed uses the sling plate, but on my M1Super90 Tactical stock (with the pistol grip, which is standard, not a "worthless tactical gimmick"), the sling plate is used and necessary wheather you install the straight stock or the pistol grip stock.

I think you will like the pistol grip stock, as it add in controlling the recoil, which will help keep you from getting slapped by the recoil.

THANK YOU

great post doug.

you folks who havent shot an m1s90 don't know what it's like to get a 1/4 polymer blade shoved upside your zygomatic arch. after 50 rounds you looklike someome hit you with a thin lead pipe.

i'd like to buy the OEM benelli PG, but it's about $200 and nuts to that.

maybe you have muscular cheeks

but alas i have very pretty and delicate cheekbones that the girls like and i strive to protect :neener:
