There is no model number anywhere but there is a s/n and date.

The receiver is too shiny to get a good close up of the date with my camera but you can see where it is at the bottom right edge below the lower pin.

The date says "APR 20-1915"

The other writing is:
"SPRINGFIELD"
"ARMS COMPANY"
"CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS, U.S.A."

Nowhere does it mention Stevens or Savage. I thought the stock didn't line up with the shape of the receiver just right but the stock has a matching s/n under the butt plate. I am trying to replace the stock (slight crack) so I would like to identify the exact model and age. I suspect a 311 or 5100 but there seems to be variations. Any help would be appreciated.

I can't pinpoint it. Have you looked at the info on the Bob's Gun Shop site? The 3rd pic down the left side shows 4 stock configurations and lists measurements underneath.

"Or call the office and they will help you. Have your measurements ready when you Call."
