Hey all!

I've had a Mauser in the safe for a decade or so, and I never got around to looking it up... I was hoping I might find some help here. I don't imagine it's anywhere near matching or worth a fortune, but it's in relatively decent shape and smells good. =)

The top of the receiver is marked:

CS. ST.
ZBROJOVKA
BRNO

On the side is:
E (lion) 23
C2109

No serial on the bolt, just a Z in a circle at the base of the bolt handle.

Looks like serial number 3830 on the butt plate... no serial on teh magzaine floor plate, but it's stamped "09".

So I'm thinking a ZV 23? Let me know if there are any other expected markings or features that would help aid identification. It has no front sight hood or cleaning rod.

I can try to take a pic or two if anyone's interested. Thanks for your help!

Those are the same markings mine has on the receiver.

Differences: Rear sight leaf is not in Roman script (Cyrillic?) The leaf is also marked with a crescent instead of a Z. Turkish?

My rifle has two barrel bands, not one. So a VZ23 in a 24 stock?
