I'm in the process of writing a letter to my state representative in defense of HB 615, which would remove Georgia's "Public Gathering" provision, among other things. I've seen it printed that this would allow firearms to be carried on college campuses (e.g. here, here), but I don't see anything resembling that in the text of the bill. GA Code 16-11.127.1 seems untouched. Can someone verify that nothing changes with respect to carrying on campus, just so I'm not make a fool of myself in this letter by mistake.
Never mind: "A person possessing a license issued pursuant to Code Section 16-11-129 shall be permitted to carry a firearm in every location in the state not listed in subsection (a) of this Code section, notwithstanding any other Code section, provided that nothing in this subsection shall limit any pre-existing right to exclude others from private property."
