Here's my problem, I just can't seem to find a set of Super Blackhawk grips that fit my hand. The factory grips are too small and the Hogue and Pachmayr are too damn big. I feel like Goldielocks.:banghead:

To compound my frustration the Hogue grips on my S&W 29 are perfect!

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.

I just contoured the factory grips and put a bit of checkering on my super, really changed how it felt.

Never occurred to me to recommend obsolete grips, but now that I am thinking:

These were made by Uncle Mike's, and they are #59001...
Some of the best recoil taming, hand filling grips I have seen...
These are what my SBH wears when hunting...
They come up quite often on eBay:

These are simply outlandish, but I like them for that...
They are Mustang grips from the 70's:

A friend of mine has an old set of Mustang grips on his SBH and they do a great job of cutting down on the amount of felt recoil. No finger grooves, some skip line checkering that's just a decent hand-filling design that doesn't feel overly large or wide. I have looked from time to time online and at some of the local gunshows but I have yet to find a pair just like them.

I would recommend Hogue "cowboy" grips. They are of the standard factory style but thicker and rounded. A much more elegant and comfortable solution than the various oversized, fingergroove monstrosities. Which completely ruin the fine handling qualities of a single action revolver.

I want to thank everybody for their help!

I'm going to look into the Hogue grips that CraigC mentioned, as he kinda hit the nail of my proplem right on it's head.

Good luck! I think a lot of people don't realize how much difference the right shape and thickness can make in a set of grips. It can literally be the difference between intolerable and total comfort.
