Pachmayr Presentation Grips
Hogue Monogrip Grips
I like to here some reviews on the above grips for a ruger blackhawk 41 mag:
I am not crazy about the looks on both grips
My Ruger 41 has the stock grips and I enjoy the flip of the single action when fired I wonder how the feel is going to be with rubber grips and a solid hold?

If you enjoy shooting it with the stock grips, why put the atrocious and boarderline sacraligous rubbers on them?
POk, that aside, I have admittingly have put a set of Pachmayers on a single action before. One was on a .41 mag which is scoped for hunting. With HOT loads it is a kicker. It allowed a bit larger surface area to grip so I guess the force during recoil is spread over a wider area and the material absorbs a bit but there's not enough fo me to warrent using these much at all unless it's for these Ruger-only loads.
I abhore the Hogues.

I have pretty large hands and put the ugly Pachmayr grip on my Blackhawk at first which worked fairly well but the guys at Ruger Forum shamed me into going back to the factory grips. After shooting it a while it became natural using them even with pretty stout loads. Maybe on really heavy loads a light weight glove might help some people.

I put a set of these Sile rubber grips I bought from CDNN for $4 on my BH .41mag. Not pretty and not traditional but they are more comfortable and function very well. For a gun I shoot I prefer function over form.

Lonewolf, I'll tell you how it's going to feel if you slap on the Hogue Grips. It's going to feel like your petting a bunny rabbit. I had a .357 Blackhawk and put the Hogue Grips on it. I also practiced with the original wood panel grips. I know what you mean when you say you enjoyed the flip of the gun. I guess it just depends on what you want to do with the Blackhawk. If you will ever use the gun under duress, or if you just want a comfortable day of shooting, the Hogue Grips will make the Blackhawk feel like a soft stick of butter when the gun goes bang, only no oily residue. Very comfortable.
