Hi,

My Marlin 1894's dovetail rear sight is pointing too much to the right, so I need to either punch it to the left or remove it.

The problem is it is sticking so hard to the barrel that my brass punch is bent but the sight base won't move at all. I am using Wheeler brass punch and mallet.

Is there any way to loosen it up a little bit, or is there a pushing tool that's suitable for rifle?

The rear sights on the new 1894s are in there really tight. You pretty much need a padded vise and a strong brass punch to move them. At the range, without a vise, forget it.
