Looking to get a CZ P01, but have to sell a gun first.

My 75bd has thousands through it and racks like it's on rollers. My second gun ever. Mostly a range gun and I have it for sentimental reasons only.

Kahr K9, daily carry and fits in a jacket pocket, has the Clipdraw on it. Doesn't get fired much due to FMJ requirement (i use lead). No sentimental value.

The P01 would pretty much do everything my 75bd does, but more 'carryable'. I'm more accurate with it too. Bigger than the K9 though so I'd have to consider different holster options. Also...my GF likes the P01 better.

Locate a nice used Kahr CW9 you could trade the K9 for and get cash on top. That way, with the CW9's button rifled bbl you could use lead and shoot the pistol more, maintain essentially the same daily carry gun, keep your sentimental 75bd, and be a good way toward buying the P01.

Shouldnt have been a question. Glocks are known as the ugly guns. I think kahr, definitely very close second. CZ P-01 great shooting gun. I have the big brother version CZ P-06 in .40 grrat guns

Oops, subtract one vote from the CZ75BD since you can't change your votes.

I thought the question was "which should I keep" and I voted for the CZ75BD only to realise two seconds after that the question was "which one should I get rid of".

I am not a big Kahr fan but I voted to trade/sell the CZ, the Kahr is a tool that fits your needs. Also not a fan of the CZ's DA trigger, recently traded a CZ 75D PCR for a G19, similar size pistols but the consistant trigger of the G19 has advantages for me. Just last month sold my SIG P232 to a friend, it was the last of my DA/SA pistols. Bye-bye, Beretta 92fs, SIG P226,229,239,232, CZ 75D, S&W 39-2, 59, H&K P30L, etc. You get the picture, I really liked all these pistols, except the S&W 59, but nothing they could do the a 1911/2011 or a Glock could not do better (I was never going to own a tupperware pistol, until I was given one to shoot a USPSA match), no regrets... well maybe the S&W 39-2, it was my first.

I would get rid of the Kahr since you can't shoot HPs....for a carry gun I would prefer HPs over FMJ

P-01's are pretty slick. I just finished setting one up and it turned out to be a pretty sweet little gun. Given that you like the 75BD, you should be very comfortable on the P-01.

I don't want to derail this thread, but that's just silly.

If having the two cz's would be somewhat redundant then from a practicality stand point I would sell the CZ, so I voted sell the CZ.

Well I can't vote to allow you to sell either. If your girlfriend likes the P-01 then she should buy herself a new CZ. There it is folks, equality in action!

Ask yourself if you would carry the new pistol and, if you would, what will your girlfriend carry when you're not around? Get her trained, licensed and down to the local gun shop to pick out her new pistol, that's where I see the need. Have a garage sale or two and save a few bucks to finance the whole thing.

All my way of saying you'll need to rationalize your own decision. If she is to be a permanent part of your life, make sure she plays an equal role.

Doesn't work that way, skylerbone. We share finances and incomes, and she's not that into carrying a firearm despite having her permit. This year will be 15 years together.

I can't believe it's a dead heat. Really didn't expect this.

You seem to like CZ products (rightfully so) as you are looking to buy one, so I can't see the logic in selling a 75 that has sentimental value.

The P01, as you mentioned, is more than capable as a carry gun.

FWIW, I sold a gun with sentimental value once. Won't do it again.

Then I say that still applies. If I read things correctly, you favor your current CZ for overall shootability and enjoyment, something that should not be down played. Your Kahr serves something of a utilitarian role and is perhaps mated with corresponding equipment, spare magazines and the like. The P-01 could very well suit both purposes and allow your very significant other to better enjoy shooting. So...while I have a K9 and am currently gearing up to carry it I would say keep the CZ and sell your Kahr. I'll warn you that my K9, bought used less than 2 months ago w/NS was only $329. I suspect the CZ would fetch more.

One last note about "range guns" I feel needs said. If I didn't enjoy shooting, I simply wouldn't own or carry firearms. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a carry pistol that is a pleasure to shoot so long as it is dependable. Best of luck with your decision.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I've decided that my 75bd would be redundant so the Kahr stays put this time around. It'll be in good hands, I'm sure.
