1st shotgun: When I was a kid, my grandpa's friend kept a single shot 410 shotgun at my grandpa's cabin. I shot it once, and it was really nice. I cannot for the life of me remember the brand/model of the gun.
Here is what I remember about it: It was a hammerless break action of course, but the lever to break open the barrel was underneath and part of the trigger guard. You'd use your middle and/or ring finger(s) to lift the lever towards the grip/stock. The barrel was at least 24" I'd say. The wood stock and fore grip were really nice, probably walnut with a really nice finish, and the metal was nicely blued. I don't think there was an ejector, I think it only has an extractor, though I could be wrong about this... it's literally been about 20-25 years or so since I last saw it.
My grandpa is still alive, but he doesn't remember what it was. He doesn't like guns anymore...
I found a picture of something that is similar but I am pretty sure the gun in the picture isn't the one my grandpa's friend had. The one in the picture is a Baikal or something from Russia. I include the picture because that is exactly how you'd open the breach, with that lever behind and coming off the trigger guard. I'd be very surprised if his friend owned an eastern bloc firearm (though if he did, he probably bought it for like $40), though I could be wrong. I am pretty sure the gun dated back to the 70s or 80s maybe the 90s at the latest.
It's driving me crazy! Does anybody know of any other shotguns that could fit this description? The one pictured could be it, though I remember the finish and overall feel/look to the shotgun a lot nicer.
2nd shotgun: This gun I never saw personally. It belonged to my great-grandpa (1913-2013). My grandpa (the one from above), said my great grandpa has this awesome break action .22lr over 410 shotgun with a (side) folding wire stock, and a leather holster that strapped to your leg when you wore it. My grandpa couldn't get it when my great grandpa was getting rid of his guns, and like before, he can't remember what it was maker or model. I asked my great grandpa about before he passed, but he was 99 and could only remember his Remington 760 Gamemaster in 30-06 (which thankfully I have!).
Any ideas for this one guys?
ANY info for either of them would be much appreciated!!!
