The DPMS G2 and S&W seem to be good values. If I was in the market for a 7.62 AR I'd be looking hard at the G2 Recon due to the smaller size and weight (and good price) or the LMT slick side MWS because I have an MRP and really like it, but it's heavy. I do like and use the QC barrel feature on my MRP, it's like having multiple ARs in one.
Hesse/Vulcan or whatever they are currently calling themselves. Can be OK if you want a cheap starting point and have the gunsmithing tools and skills to fix them up, but for normal folks, stay away.
I've found 3 I think is like; the sig716 DMR, DPMS Tac-20, and DPMS MK-12
3 others that I'd think would work are the ruger (though I'd like a longer barrel), the mp 10 and an armalite ar-10b 20in
My questions for those that have expierience with these models are;
1- how is dpms quality? Specifically in the reliability department/warranty
2- is the sig that much better for the price?
3- anybody have any problems or criticism of these models?
