Vintage '94 or Marlin or mid priced American double 12 ga obvious choices. Mdl 70's fine guns, but a bit upscale for the image. In those days the "everyman" bolt gun would have been a sporterized .30-40 Krag. For more of an individualist image a Rem 81.
