I'm thinking about buying a pistol caliber carbine.
I've narrowed down my choices to the keltec sub 2000 in .40 s&w and the hi point 4595.
I'm only allowing myself to have one.
I want everyone opinion on which one I should get.
Capacity and ammo price are of no concern to me.

Between those two options I would probably go with the hi point in 45 caliber. Bigger entry hole. Too bad they don't have a 10mm carbine. I think 10mm would be a great pistol carbine caliber. But to stay on topic to your question both guns look great...Choice would be preference of caliber and personal taste and reliability of the weapon. The 4595 has rails you could mount a laser or flashlight to.

I know it isn't one of your choices, but none of the above. I'd rather have a Marlin Cowboy lever action in 45 Colt

What pistols do you have? If you have a .40 that KT makes a compatible-magazine using Sub2000 for, that would be the one to get.

Otherwise, get the one you like better.

The only PCC I would buy Is the Beretta Storm... but of the two you mentioned, the KelTec is the superior carbine in my opinion.

I've never had a keltec, but I do own 2 Hi Point's. they are in .40. my wife and I love to shoot them in between other firearms. And we can use the .40's on the pistol range. I have yet to have one issue. not one misfire, nothing. for as cheap as they are, the damn things just work. ugly as sin, but I gotta telly ya, as reliable as they are, I would fully trust it if I were in a jam. Can't compare the two, can just tell you the Hi Points are easily worth the price, and then some.

I have had the 4595 for about six months and 700 rounds. Only one failure to feed. I have started to test reloads for it. So far the best I've been able to do is one inch (C to C) at 25yards from a rest. Not the most accurate, but I'm not done yet either. It's not pretty or sophisticated but for the price you can't go wrong. No BS guarantee from the maker. They also sell extra mag, cases lights and lasers at fair prices with no charge for shipping. Would I buy one of the others on yourt list? Probably, but just for the novelty of another gun in another caliber.
