I have a CZ-75B, but I want to add another 9mm to my collection.

Here is my list of features I want.

- at least 10 round magazine

- No Glocks (had a G17, thing stovepiped constantly)

- Good customer service from manufacture

- Quality Standard capacity (not the nuetered 10 round AWB mags) readily available for less then $50 buck a mag.

- No double action hammer fired triggers, unless it can be carried cocked and locked like a CZ - 75. Double action stiker fired guns are ok as long as they dont have a heavy trigger pull

- No magazine disconnect safety.

- Must stay under $700, less money spent is better if it meets my qualifications.

- utter reliability and durability

-Not another CZ or clone, I love my CZ but what something different.

I have sorta narrowed my field to the XD and M & P, but not sure of there is anything else I might be missing.

The XD-9 Service fits that.

Bonus, you can get it in some fantastically sharp looking two-tone.

Or go with a Taurus PT92 or PT99. They can be carried locked and cocked like the CZ.

I will say, a Beretta's or a SIG's DA trigger is only hard to work if your index finger is arthritic or suffers from multiple knuckle injuries. We're looking at light and smooth.

(Same goes for the BD series of CZ's, something to think about for your third 9mm to add a DA/SA skill set to your talent cabinet.)

I never use the DA trigger on the CZ, I really dont like DA/SA firearms, I feel the DA is not necessary and I dont like different trigger pulls.

I would also throw the 24/7 and/or OSS into the mix as they are fast becoming some of my favorite polymers. And if you come across a Steyr M9-A1, I recommend it highly.

I would suggest the taurus pt92 afs or the beretta 92. What a fantasic pistol!

XD or XDm all the way.

I did not particularly enjoy my M92 I carried in the Middle East for military use, for a few personal reasons... However I will say for civilian use, where the pistol is not used / abused as badly it would do fine. Always rated the M9 (M92) as "Somewhere in between not bad and I wish I had a 1911."

M-P is a superb product, yet after firing the XDm quite extensively I found myself more liable to max out a credit card for XD over MP.

- PS: If you are Fire, EMS, LE, Military you can score MPs for 419.00 which includes shipping. www.budspolicesupply.com Occasionally go on sale for 399.00 :what: !!

I was always under the impression that Taurus had poor customer service.

Poor customer service. Not poor guns. I kinda lean away from products that don't have good backing myself though. But, I bet that there are many more positive transactions with them than negative. We just HEAR more negatives. I've shot more than a handful of Taurus' firearms and I can't complain about any of them.

I traded my first gun (I loved it too) a CZ-75b, for my XD45C. I have not looked back since. Having the ability to have BOTH guns would have been awesome...

Go for the XD line. I recommend the XD45C and the XD9SC.

As was said - sometimes poor service, but not poor firearms. Also, the PT92, PT99, PT100 and PT101 are like the CZ in that they could be used cocked and locked.

Also, Smith and Wesson has their SW1911 Pro's in 9mm. 9mm 1911's, even with external extractors, are very fun.

- No magazine disconnect safety.

If you don't mind a little home gunsmithing you can knock out the mag disconnect in 5 minutes on a Browning High Power... The standard by which all others are judged.

(let's see how long it takes a net nanny to call me out on that one)

Arnt hi powers over $700 NIB?

I have also heard of nasty hammer bite issues with HI powers and not so great triggers out of the box.

Your totaly missing the boat if you don't consider the Sig Pro 2022 in 9mm

$499.99 plus nix check/ FFL fee, hands down one of the best out there today.

I went to the range today and put a box of ammo through my 1911, a box through my FN5x28, 2 boxes through my E9, a box through my CZ83, and a box each through my CZ75b and PT92 AFS. I would not sell nor trade one of them and can highly recommend all of them. The 5x28 is a seriously interesting weapon. 20 rounds per mag, 30 if you want; great ergos and accuracy.

Just get a new gun! You'll like it.

FWIW:

I don't even know how many of the requirements you seek can be found on the Walther P99c/AS but I do know this.

It's well under $700
It's amazingly accurate.
It's absolutely reliable.

Mags (from CDNN) aren't too pricey.

In over 50 years of firearms ownership, a pile of them compact 9mm pistols I've only found 5 (so far) that are above average in accuracy, actually way above average in accuracy, and seem to work perfectly right from the moment you take them out of the box.

Four were HK's (3 P7's/1 P2000sk) & the fifth was a sweet P99c/AS.:D

Just another choice.

Good Shopping,

Jesse
