Help me pick my next Midsize 9mm

Alright so I have narrowed it down to a few guns but dont know which one to get. I already carry a Glock 22 on duty and have a 23 with the 9mm conversion barrel. I cant decide between the HK VP9, Sig SP2022, Springfield XD-M 3.8 compact or maybe fullsize grip, or the CZ P-07. Please help with any info that you may have. The only one i havent had the ability to put my hands on is the CZ but any advice would be appreciated. This would be an off duty carry and would stay in a drawer safe with a streamlight tlr-1 attached.

What is the max price you are willing to spend? Of the guns you have listed the best values are the SP2022 and the P07. If you get the P07 pamke sure you get the updated version.

You managed to list all guns that I've never shot before. Based on rep alone out of those I'd be looking at the H&K VP9 myself.

In the "Other" category, I personally like the S&W M&P a lot.

Kind of depends on some of your preferences. I have 3 CZ's and they are great, but I've switched to a simpler mode (No decockers or safeties). For a bed side gun, hammer fired DA/SA would be fine for me though.

I currently am carrying a HK P2000sk and my bedside is a HK P30L. However, I voted for the Sig P2022. It's a great bargain and good gun.

Another reason I switched from the CZ was the small slide that is tougher to get a good hand on when racking / clearing stoppages. Otherwise, I LOVE CZs.

With my last two firearm purchases being CZ this one is easy.


When I picked up my P-09 the 07 almost swayed me from another full sized pistol.

While I don't have any use for any pistols that aren't full sized, I find myself wanting a mate for my 09.

Like someone said be sure to get the gen2 version.

Definitely CZ as the best. But for mid size your'e talking about 75C (PCR). The best of the best. I own one, and think this is the best gun that money can buy.

The VP9 is awesome, but I don't call that gun mid size. I own one and love it.

The Xdm 3.8 is awesome. It is midsized until you in the Xtension mag, which gives it full capacity. I own one and love it.

Sigs are great. Can't go wrong. I have, and always will. own Sigs.

I would probably choose the HK VP9 as I prefer it's overall design and ergonomics over the CZ P07. Another mid-size 9mm. you might want to consider is the Ruger SR9c.

I have an SP2022 but don't consider it a mid size. Go for a Sig P239 or a CZ75 compact which I would consider mid size.

There is nothing wrong, AFAIK, with any of the guns on your list. I chose the CZ, but I admit to being biased.
