What I have:

Colt 1911 Government Model 5 inch Barrel .45 ACP
Springfield XD Service Model 9mm 4 inch Barrel
Glock 26
Glock 42
Taurus .38 Special Snubbie
Ruger LCP

So I have .45ACP, 9mm, 38 Special, and .380 Calibers

Now help me choose my next handgun:

Use: Range gun, carry gun in Safepacker, home defense. I have Glock 42 which I carry a lot, pocket carry. It is great but kind of thinking I want something with more punch and higher capacity (limited to ten round thanks to New York Un-Safe Act.) Been thinking with all these ISIS Bastards running around threatening to attack malls and stuff I want to have something a little better than my Glock 42 and with more power than my 9mm handguns I already have.

Thinking I want another full size in .45 ACP or possibly going to .40S&W. I have looked at and held Glock 21 &30, and Springfield XD in .45. thinking of taking a look at Sigs. Wasn't too crazy about blocky the grip on the Glock and springfield felt. They felt blockier than my 9mm Glock and XD.

Do Sigs have nicer more ergonomic grips? What other options should I look at? Any Sig fans that can give me insight? I guess I could just start carrying my 1911 but I am limited to 8 rounds. Also very heavy carry gun. Im intrigued by .357 sig but cant stomach the ammo costs. Thanks for any thoughts. Sorry for the disorganized mess that I just wrote lol.

The SIG P227 has pretty good ergonomics although I don't care for the grip texture. The HK45 has outstanding ergonomics. These are both large service pistols and not the easiest to conceal, but they're the best 10-round .45 automatics around.

Seems like you're lacking in hammer fired pistols so in a 9mm crazed world at the time I would suggest a Cz 75B or any other variant of the 75 (sp01, p01, pcr, shadow). Or their newer p09/07 pistols or you can wait for the new p10c if you want another striker wonder 9. Sigs are great as well and you can't go wrong with a p220/5/6/7/8/9 or an up and comer in the Arex Rex Zero 1S. Or can just add a little brother to your 1911 and get a Colt commander in 9mm or 45 which may be my all time favorite pistol

Without a doubt, a 9mm Makarov must be your next gun. They are wonderful:

Check out the Charter Arms pit bulls in AUTO calibers .It will save you from having to buy different ammo, and their quality is quite good . Also look at the compact 45's available. I purchased an ATI Titan and am quite happy with it. You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a good reliable hand gun .

The Sig Ultra Compact .45 might be just the thing. Alloy frame, so it's light (28oz). Comes with tritium sights. It's my daily carry unless I'm reduced to having something in my pocket instead.

It also comes in an all-black version (Nitron) if the two-tone thing is not for you.

JJones beat me to it.

You sir, need some kind of cz.
In general they are extremely accurate, very comfortable in the hand, incredibly reliable, and (I'm speaking of 75 varriants) the slide in frame design leads to less muzzle flip.

They have a small but very good gunsmithing circle and can be improved even farther. Essentially a cz 75 can excel in any roll from affordable reliable compact carry piece, To full tilt top of the heap Competition pistols.

Except be light. They cannot be light. They are heavy.

One question, a hundred possible good answers.

My 2 cents worth: Get yerself a 10mm semi auto. Could be a Glock 29 if you want compact or a Rock Island Tactical 1911 type. Both going for about $550 and a great deal. I have both. 10mm can deliver quite a powerful punch with ammo from Double Tap and similar. But not as bad as going bat **** crazy like with a 450 Casull.

I would put these on your list:
CZ-75 or 85
CZ-83
Browning Hi Power

If you're interested in .22 find a S&W K22 Masterpiece (Model 17)

Well, I for one am off the Taurus fan bus.
I've had mine back to them 3x & this last time, it's been there since June 3, 2016.

They say they're gonna replace it with a new one, but can't tell me when.
They can't even say for sure it'll be before 12/31/2017 (next year)

The 1911 & LCP sure aren't gonna have 10 rounds.
So that leaves the XD9 & the Glocks

There cut that list right down for ya! :)
