Sounds great except for the fact you'd be wasting your time. The denizens of the United Kingdom aren't gun lovers betrayed by a dictatorial government; waiting for Americans to free them from the yoke of tyranny. They have not only drunk the no-gun Kool-Aid, I believe they may have drip tubes in their arms.
The UK has the notion that by banning everything that can be used as a weapon, they can end violence. So far, it doesn't seem to have worked very well, but reversing the trend involves a lot of important, well-placed and often high-ranking people admitting they are, and have been, wrong. In addition, it involves a majority of Britons admitting they were wrong for believing the important, well-placed and often high-ranking people who sold them this load of horse puckey.
Imagine a nation led by Richard Daleys, Michael Bloombergs, Chuck Schumers and Carolyn McCarthys and populated by supporters of the Brady Center and the Violence Policy Center with a relatively small number of inhabitants who like to hunt and one lad out in Shropshire who actually likes guns. (This may be overstating the case, but it's not too far off.) Do you really think that bombarding them with facts is going to change their minds? Daley threatened a reporter with a bayonet mounted on a rifle and wanted a staff of armed bodyguards after he left office, Bloomberg had people violate federal laws, Schumer had a handgun permit and McCarthy has made a nice living on the taxpayer's dime for 14 years and not one of them sees any inconsistency. All of them have been barraged by facts from people living in a country that generally supports gun ownership and yet they still trot out the same old, tired, long-disproven arguments.
If you're determined, I suggest you try to find a pro-gun group in the UK to help you spread the word. Good luck!
