Help!!! Mossberg 500A

I have a older Mossberg 500a and I cant find a serial number onit.
The buttplate says mossberg, 500A is stamped on the bottom of the breach, the barrel is stamped Chambered for 2 3/4 and 3in shells. 12GA. Full Choke Magnum
made in USA
there are no other markings on the gun ezcept for a p in side of 2 circles which is on the barrel.
It is also a single slide pump action.
It should have Mossberg stamped on barrel but dosnt and the serial nu,mber should be on the breach just over the trigger but its not
I live in Canada and have to have all this info to register

Have you tried calling Mossberg directly? Goodluck, and welcome to the forum.

If it is an older Mossberg (made before late 1968) it probably does NOT have a serial number. Serial numbers were not required on long guns made in the USA before the "Gun Control Act" of 1968.

I have two M500's made for Montgomery Wards, sold as Western Field. Neither one has a serial number.
