Need some reloading help!!!! Quik if you can.

Loading up 220 Swift, MIN OAL is 2.630 for RL15, using RCBS Dies, 55gr V-max bullet NO cannalure.

OK, bought dies off ebay no instructions, followed bullet seating instructions per Lee rifle die set. Was going to seat bullet for an OAL of 2.650. Problem is I have bottomed out bullet seating adjustment. Now I have to screw down die to get there. But now I'm shaving the copper jacket.

So...I'll guess that I just adjust die back up so it won't try and crimp and then bottom out bullet adjustment and see what I get for an OAL and hope that it chambers.

Any pointers or tips are welcome. I typ. load for pistol calibers and haven't loaded any rifle loads for 9 months and that waas only a couple times for 223. Should also mention that I'll be shooting these in a single shot Savage.

Let's see if I can remember the details right for RCBS dies. Have only been using them for 40 years. Follow directions as stated with NO SHORTCUTS. Steps 1-5 MUST be followed in sequence or problems will occur.
(For testing/making dummy round WITHOUT primer or powder, just seat bullet in sized empty case.)
1. Screw die down partially but NOT FAR enough to crimp case.
2. Screw in seating stem to push bullet into case (trial and error) to depth or AOL desired.
3. Back out seating stem fully.
4. Screw die down far enough to crimp case as desired WITH bullet previously seated to desired depth and tighten lock ring on die body.
5. Screw seating stem down until it just touches bullet firmly and tighten lock ring on seating stem.
6. Die (seater and crimper) is now adjusted properly.
7. Keep the dummy round. If you ever change seater stem setting, just back out seater stem, place dummy round into press, and lower seating stem to touch bullet. Seater is reset properly.

Good shooting and be safe.

.220 Swift should not need a crimp at all, and using one will likely make accuracy worse.
