Hello All,
I am a High C-class/low B-class USPSA shooter and have been using my Desert Eagle 1911 G (government model 1911) for the past three years. I have put close to 10,000 rounds through this particular gun in the past three years, and attained my level of skill with it so I am hesitant when choosing my next pistol. I currently shoot Limited-10, Single Stack, and CDP in IDPA. I want to keep shooting those divisions, while also opening up SSP/ESP in IDPA and Limited in USPSA.
I already know what specs I would like on a gun, but perhaps you guys could help me narrow down the possibilities. I am working on a budget, or else I would just buy a STI or SVI and call it good.
Current considerations:
-XD (M) 5.25 in .40 (can get it at basically cost plus shipping. Buddy of mine works at a gun shop)
-Para P16-40
S&W M&P .40 fullsize. Prefer not. I think its the trigger.
Things I want:
-Single action only/same trigger pull every time, HATE DA/SA (able to be cocked and locked preferred, or pretty close to it, but I've carried a Glock before, no biggie)
-chambered in .40 SW
-15+ round capacity (to be competitive in Limited)
-not a glock. Nothing against them, but transitioning between a Glock and a 1911 in the same match would be...difficult
-be a full sized gun
-Be around $1000 or less. Yes, I can wiggle a bit, but thats around my limit. Still have to buy mags, dies, reloading components for .40, holster, etc.
Polymer or steel, I don't have a preference. I appreciate all of your help, gents.
I appreciate your input. I don't mind running an odd gun in competition, so throw those suggestions at me!
Take care, and shoot straight.
