I am having some trouble determining the value of a 1928 Model 94 saddle ring carbine chambered in .30 WCF ( ser# 10406xx ). The rifle has been professionally restored; this is what has me at a loss as far as value. The bluing is beautiful and the stampings are still crisp. The wood is original with some dents but the finish is great.

Any help as to the value of this gun would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a picture but have many pick of this rifle if more are needed.

I recently bought a Winchester M-12 12ga from 1950 that had been beautifully refinished, but I got it for 1/2-2/3 the price of the un-refinished guns BECAUSE it had been refinished...

What do you think it is worth?

Being refinished is great but what is the barrel condition?

Is the action tight? (will the hammer fall from 1/2 cock)?

If barrel is excelent, and action tight this rifle would be worth $1,200.00
if it was original and looked like your pic(95%), it's value would be much more.

Remember anyone looking to buy is going to dwell on the faults(refinish) and you the seller have to dwell on its ssn, and S-ring.

Are your are looking to sell, or just interested in the worth.
If the latter, $4,000.00

The restoration was done by Dick Williams in Saginaw, MI. The action is tight and the bore is in very good condition. I bought it about 8 years ago in this condition. I have shot it a little and it shoots well, but I'm more into bolt guns. I know that the refinish can be a huge hit to the value of an old Winchester. I saw a few just like it but with original finish in pretty poor shape and it got me thinking. I'm toying with the idea, of trying to turn this into some cash, to put toward a Cooper Montana Varminter.
