Help Please 686 Identification

All,

I can't find much info at all on this abandoned baby that followed me home yesterday. This thing is unfired in box with all paperwork and included a very nice unused Phoenix Galco Dual position Holster.

It is a S&W 686-5 7inch Barrel, No Lock, 7 shot unfluted cylinder, product code 149198 special order #0278.

I see nothing in any of my books. Most I could find was someone on the internet saying they called S&W and was told there was only 67 made for an international distributor, I am really doubting this.

Any revolver that's part of a "Special Run" isn't usually listed in the books. I bought a M640-1 that I couldn't find in any of the books I asked S&W about it I was told it was part of a Special Run for AccuSport and that's why the serial number isn't in the books.

I called yesterday and they had the purchase order, the guy just said yes sir you have a rare one and he didn't know who it was made for it was a strange conversation.
