I just purchased and installed a tech sight for my WASR10 and it looks great. My problem is removing the old rear sight. Help please? BTW I don't have a vice.
The way I get the AK rear sights out, is to put the rifle across the corner of my workbench, resting at the flat of the mag well. Take a flat blade screw driver, with a piece of tape on the tip, put it in the notch in the center of the sight, at the end where it connects to the gun, and push down and towards the rear of the gun. The sight should pop right out. It will take a little pressure, but be ready for it when it goes and watch you dont stab yourself with the screw driver.
I've also heard some say they use a rod in a drill press, and using the rod, depress the spring under the end of the sight, and then remove the sight while the pressure is off.
