Can anyone give me a web site for field striping the S&W Model 59. Just bought one from a friend who had never fired it, didn't really know much about it and didn't have a manual. I invested very little for it and it seems to be in great shape. I don't want to take it apart until I have read proper procedure. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

I explained it in detail for a 5904 at http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=452569
Works for a 59 too. You'll have a removable bushing too. It comes off easy enough after you remove the slide and recoil spring. Give it about a 1/4 turn one direction or the other and it slides off. The the barrel removes. When you reassemble you'll only have 2 small levers that will need depressed before completely seating the slide.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

Get by with a little help from your friends

Thanks to you who gave the sage advice on my S&W Model 59. All cleaned and soaking over night sprayed down with Brake-Free. It looks new for as long as it has sat idle with no TLC. Again thanks to you that took the time to answer my request for help.
