I was wondering if anyone could help me out or know of a site with better instructions than what came with the press on how to set up the Lee Classic turret press and the Lee Pro auto disk powder measure.

Thanks
Nick

I'm sorry I don't know of a site but their Reloading Manual has detailed instructions for all of their presses.

Caveat: I have a 'standard' turret, but the two are not that dissimilar. FWIW, I've updated my standard turret with the 4-die configuration and the Safety Prime, so it's functionally nearly the same as yours. I imagine one of the numerous Classic Cast owners will be along to help as well.

What part of the setup are you having trouble with? Give as detailed an answer as you can--

If it is the die setup, then see the Lee support videos here.

If it's die setup, then the general procedure for die settings is the same as for the Pro 1000, and you can see those guidelines for die setup from that same page.

For the die setup, start with the #1 / sizing-decapping die.

With a shell holder on the ram, and with the ram fully raised, then
screw the die down until it contacts the shell holder.

Lower the ram, screw the die down an additional 1/4 turn, and tighten up the locknut.

And so on--

Tell us more.

If you are dealing with getting the powder measure to function correctly--

first, I assume you have installed it on the number two die, with a riser and with the swivel adapter installed. If you do NOT have the #2 / Powder Through Expander die setup up yet, then remove the Measure assembly (including the Riser) and reinstall the PTED 'funnel.'

Then return to setting up the #2 die completely--i.e., try belling sized cases until it looks right, and even try building some dummy rounds (no primer, no powder).

Once the PTED die is set up, then re-install the Powder Measure. When you install it, use the swivel adapter to align the powder measure "inside" the die, not outside--line it up on the radius line, so to speak. That orientation keeps momentum and inertia issues to a minimum when the turret indexes, and keeps the measure out of the way of the Safety Prime.

I also think that Youtube.com has some videos from users for lee presses.

Along with the videos on the Lee site and Youtube I would be willing to answer any specific questions you have. I use a Lee Classic Turret 4 Hole Press.

Welcome to the forum and to reloading!

i wasn't avoiding. I don't have a press. just wanted to post where i had seen some setup instructions.

Let us know what the problem is. There are enough of us with classic turrets we should be able to get you going. Welcome
Rusty

Thank you for the help, I believe I have it, just waiting on a few more things to be delivered so I can actually start reloading. If I have anymore questions though I wont hesitate to ask.

Thanks again, and this site has definately helped me alot.

timberwolfEMT,
If you haven't heard or done so already, be sure to run a can of powder through that measure on the press before you start relying on it for accurate metering. It needs to be coated with graphite to resist static cling on the plastic. Some use a dryer sheet, which may also work for you.
