Help trying to make a shelf into a useable reloading shelf?

bds.. is that an old ch4s champion there?

IF I were the OP.. I"d pull the press, and run a leg down from under it to the floor.. like a 2x4 or 4x4 (overkill). I'd drill all the way through the shelf, and use threaded rod/lock washers/fender washers in order to lock her down tight and no chance of that press working loose.

It's not the champion but C-H 205 model with smaller ram.

Still, it effortlessly resizes thicker walled military .308 cases and as many suggested, looks like it will be with me through retirement along with two C-H 3/4 station "H" type presses. CH4D still makes them so I am good for parts support - https://www.ch4d.com/products/equipment/presses

And I got the C-H 502 micrometer powder measure to finish out the "vintage" reloading bench that will have Herters 6 station turret press.

I started off with a ch C press.. I'd love to put hands on a champion some day lol.. but for now I'll stick with my cheap lee classic cast. Definitely a nice little setup you have there...

Bds thank you for all the help I really appreciate it your pros and cons are dully noted thank you

Update new info

Update Ok with it being the end of the month the bin rat upgrade is not a current option but soon very soon it will be for now with longer bolts and washers I've fl resized 375 pieces of 38 special brass so I think I can do pistol brass for now it is better than the last year of nothing being done

As you may have seen in the Reloading Bench thread, I'm using a cheap computer desk, reinforced with 2x6s.
Works well & has very little flex.

To the OP - try a supporting verticle 2x4. Otherwise you may rip the shelf off the wall.

Just wanted to drop a line in and say thank you to BDS for the PDF document and plans. I have a 2'x4' stationary bench, but often need additional room, or would like/need to work somewhere else. This little cart bench is just the ticket for loading, or even general firearm cleaning and gunsmithing. Thanks so much for sharing !!! Guess what I'll be doing soon ?
