Going through the parts drawers, I found a few mag tubes for para-ord p16/40 and p14/45 pistols. I'm Considering ordering (baseplate + spring + follower) kits, which would make these mag tubes functional.

Anyway, the question: Of the choices for +2 capacity baseplates, I already have some factory para, as well as adderondo (sp?) units; but am considering trying either dawson precision, or grams engineering baseplates. Can anyone give comparison of these two products? And a good retail source if possible?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I can't do a comparison as I don't have any experience with Gram Eng. but I do have Dawson's. I have a P16-40 and use quite a few of their basepads - both those that expand capacity and those that just ad weight. They work well for me. Very easy on/off and so far they seem to hold up very well indoor and out. I would recommend trying them. (Too bad they don't offer a purple now, I'd liked that one!)

Hope this helps a little with your decision.

I have used grams on both STI and Para mags. ON the p-16 you will be able to fit 22 and the p-14 you can fit 18. I have liked them a lot. They are plastic as compared to metal with dawson.
