I was on EGW website and gave them the dimensions of my Springfield 1911.
When I checked out there was a choice that listed 3 options. 1. Thick Flange
2. Skinny flange and 3. bevel carry flange. Can someone tell me which one to take that will look good on my Springfield 1911 and not look grossly more or less? thanks

Which looks better is entirely up to you.

The 'flange' is the perpendicular lip which comes out the front of the bushing. It is what keeps the bushing from slipping into the opening of the slide and holds the recoil spring cap in place.

Skinny is normal thickness as on standard GI issue bushings.

Thick is just that. It allows for additional smithing as well as looks more solid.

Bevel carry is where the edge has been dehorned. Saves some people time who like to do a melt treatment to their guns. You can sand this down to create an even more 'melted' look.
Look at photos #2 & 5 & 11 for examples of custom beveled & melted bushings.

Be careful that you chose the correct internal diameter bushing or you will need to handfit it to the barrel.
