How would you resolve the issue of size differences between a belt and the loops of a OWB pancake holster?

The belt I bought to test with is 1.5 inches, and just fits the belt loop of my jeans. As seen in the picture, the Blackhawk has a .5" gap, which makes for terrible draws.

I can't see how the holster manufacturer expects anyone to wear a 2" belt.

Can anyone provide available options to fix this:

possibly modify the loops on the holster, modify the belt?

Start over with another holster manufacturer?

TIA

I don't know how thick your belt is. I find that I can use a 1.25" belt with 1.5 belt loops with my thick belts. When tightened the holster does not move with the draw. If your belt is not thick, it might work to get a thick belt such as the ones from RafterS.

If that is not a good option for you I would get another holster. I don't know how to modify the belt loops, but maybe someone here does.

Jerry

You could glue a strip VELCRO LOOPS to the back of the belt and glue a little strip of Velcro hooks to the part of the holster that goes around the back of the belt. Velcro is used on some competition holsters.

Well. you have a very common and legitimate complaint. All of the OF THE SHELF pancakes are this way..........they have to fit every belt and some duty belts are 2"....thus the size.

There is no easy way to make it all work........get a better holster that has slots that match your belt size.........

When I make a matching rig, you can barely get the belt through the belt slots.
Thats how tight they can be .....and I like to make them.

Shoot well and god bless
