All... any one else see this? I'm loading .223 for plinking and after about 300 rounds my Lyman Gen. 6 powder measure is acting up. It acts like it's under a heavy load. The powder tube sometimes stops with a stressed spinning sound coming from somewhere inside the unit. It kinda sounds like a spinning clicking sounds, but muffled. I spin the tube by hand and it starts spinning on its own and after a bit, it starts all over again. I clean the unit completely after each use. I've replaced the two "shoes" that snap in place and guide the powder tube. It runs fine for awhile after doing that but then the same problem. I thought it may have been the IMR 4198 "pencil lead" I was using may have caught in the opening in the tube. I switched to win. 748 ball powder and nothing changed. Any ideas????? Thanks

I have had mine stop before but only couple times and twisting it by hand started it again.

Try making it do some large drops with the reducer in so it runs longer and it may loosen up.

I also polished the tube where the seals sit.

Update....I went out to do some reloading again today and decided to put my Gen 6 powder measure on an adjacent bench that wasn't attached at all to my bench that the presses are mounted. I thought this may help. Well.... it did! The measure didn't act up at all.... I figure the vibration or movement of the bench when I used the press may have screwed with the measure! So.. lesson learned.... keep the measure on another bench when loading!!!

I have mine right next to the press. I had this happen once awhile ago. I spun it back and forth a bit and it free’d up and it’s been going fine ever since.

I also sprayed a VERY light coating of Hornady one shot on the tube and also the bushings that the tube rides on. Hopefully no more issues!!
