Hello all, this is my go to forum for answers. Everyone I'm sure has their favorite powders for what they like to shoot, and if you are like me, you have experenced some difficulties in getting certain powders. For the most part of the last year and a half, I've been using WIN 231 powder for most all my target loads in 9mm, .40S&W, & .45acp, but after exhausting my supply of it, and not being able to locate any, I,ve been using different powders. I found a supply of Ramshot ZIP which will work for the above calibers, but again I find it hard to come by. So I'm switching again, this time to WIN AutoComp, but unlike the previous two powders, none of my loading manuals or pamplets have any data for this powder. So if any of you using AutoComp in the above calibers, could you post some data? I'm looking for middle of the road velocities for this powder, nothing hot or on the light side either. I usually load 9mm with SNS cast 125gr RN bullets or Berry's RN 115gr/124gr. plated. For .40S&W its 180gr. SNS cast FP bullets or Berry's 180gr. FP plated. In .45acp its, SNS cast 200gr. SWC, & SNS cast 230gr. RN also Berry's 230gr. RN plated.
Thanks for any help in advance. LM

LM, I am sure a moderator will move this to the proper spot. Reloading questions will be answered with many a learned post. Autocomp is good for .45 and I use Hogdon Titegroup for 9mm. You can google load data for either powder.

Its all out there on the internet!

be safe

if you like w231 you will love AutoComp . I use it in 9mm and 45acp, I now use w231 in 38spl only , the AutoComp works better in autos I get my data from loaddata.com , but as others have said Hogdon lists loads on there site

good luck , be safe

I too have been in the same bind. Can't find any Unique, Universal, WW231, HP38 or any of the other powders I'm familiar with. As a result I've been hoarding my Universal for .38, .44 and .45 Colt and the 231 is for .45ACP.
Managed to get my hands on a can of Autocomp and some WSF which I have been experimenting with in 9mm. So far my best target load has been 5.0 gr. of Autocomp under an Extreme 124gr. plated bullet. Advertised velocity is around 1050fps. (haven't chrono graphed them yet, been to cold outside).
Delivered very good accuracy from my CZ 85 and a CZ PCR. I'm really starting to like this powder and plan to try it in 40S&W.
Hope this helps.

Ok thanks, I've been to the web site, and have a question or two. First what does BERB stand for in type of bullet? (I'm thinking plated bullets, but not sure) Second I didn't see any data for cast 180gr. .40S&W data. So has anybody got some first hand experence coming up with a load for them? Thanks Again, LM.
