Awwwwwe, I'm sorry. I have a mom on dialysis and my dad just came out of ICU. Sorry I didn't make your timeline expectations.

Thanks for the info, everyone. Good info here. I'm leaning towards the Bushnell TRS-25.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I made an observation. It had been 4 days and you hadn't posted again.

Sometimes people get going in a thread, and can go on and on for pages, without realizing the OP is gone.

There's no need to take offense or lash out.

I'm happy to hear that he is coming out of ICU, though.

I certainly did not see that as lashing out. Relax.

Glad your dad is out of ICU man. :)

I own one high dollar electro sight, Leopold prismatic. it has an etched glass reticle, black it is always there whether the electro works or not. its on my primary defense AR. I just put a lucid sight on a JR carbine 9mm. It was $180 but so far I am very impressed. As far as the aim points and other electro only sights go I'd never trust my families safety to any electronic device. the lucid is the brightest red dot I've got, 4 reticles, one works well for long range. Plus my ARD from my strike fire screwed right in.

Save about 150 more and but a vortex sparc with the 2x screw in magnifier.
I respectfully disagree with the recommendation of the Vortex SPARC. I am on my THIRD one. The first one was mounted to a 5.56 AR and the power switch went tango uniform; the unit would not power up. It was sent back to Vortex for replacement. The replacement unit lasted 2 months before a similar problem occurred - the second unit would not shut off. It too was sent back to Vortex for replacement. This third unit resides in a closet. I have not mounted it to any of my rifles/shotguns recreational or otherwise. I won't be selling it either. I refuse to pawn off a problem piece of kit on an unsuspecting individual.

I will say that Vortex's CS was outstanding - polite, knowledgeable and responsive. I do find it puzzling that Vortex's lines of riflescopes are of very good quality, however their RDS' (IME) tend to be spotty in that regard.

You're the first person i've ever heard that had a problem.

Not to highjack the thread, but has anyone used any of these on an AK gas tube with Ultimak? Do they take the heat?

I've got several Primary Arms MD09 red dots on Ultimak gas tube mounts -- no problems yet. Initially I figured I'd give it a try after talking to Marshall at a gun show and figured I'd replace it with an Aimpoint Micro when it broke, five years later, so far no need!

They have slowly multiplied as its a nice setup -- especially on my Draco-C SBR (Marshall was a great help in finding the Ultimak that required the least modification to fit the Draco-C).

Just curious, for those with the TRS-25 or primary arms RDS, what mounts are you using for the AR-15? Anyone using a QD mount?

The Primary Arms MD-09 has the option to order it with a QD co-witness riser for your AR.
Works very well.

Yup.

If you want a reliable and durable red dot sight, you want an Aimpoint. It really is that simple.

Although I hear some ETOtech's are reliable and durable...but I've seen and heard of far too many failures to trust them personally at this point

Agreed. I was looking for an inexpensive RDS to go on a non-work rifle and the SPARC looked good on paper. My experience with it was less than optimal. I'm not trying to turn this into a SPARC-bash, just offering my history with it.

I'll give you 80.00 for it.
