Help With Sako info?? Possible Purchase...

I recently came across a Sako Finnbear L61R in .338 Win Mag for sale. Serial number 5004xx, 24" barrel not "Bofors" marked, Sako red-tan recoil pad in good shape. It is not a Deluxe version. It's used but looks new with Buehler scope bases and rings. Wood/finish and metal/blue look new.

1. The barrel is "free floated". Is that normal on Sako's?
2. Year of mfg. and model?
3. What's it worth?

Don't need another elk rifle, but it's kinda tempting me. I've always admired Sako's.

Made between 5/74 and 8/77. Is there an importer mark on it? Garcia (Sporting Goods) got the rights in '72 and later Stoeger acquired the rights.

I have no idea about price, but from what little I know I'd expect it to be $800 or $1000.

The barrel is free floating on my Sako Finnebear. The Finnebear configuration goes back to the early 60's, it is a well thought out rifle.

The barrel on my rifle is of match quality, fit and finish excellent, I would grab that rifle while you can.
