Help with Smith 14-3?

Just picked up one in really good shape for a Ruger LCP and a 100.00? Hope I got a decent deal. I was looking for more info and thoughts good or bad.
Adj sights, 38 cal, 6" barrel, square butt, 6 shot. Serial #12k6xxx.

I'd make that deal any day. Small world, the top 14-3 is factory single action and has a ser# of 12K66xx. Middle is a 14-3 with a 1K ser#, bottom is a 14-5. Can you tell I'm a 14 fan? Joe

That would be petty theft around here, excellent deal. You won't be disappointed with your side of the transaction.
 
I'd make that trade in a heartbeat.

BTW pharmer, I had no idea that a model 14 ever came with a full underlug barrel. That's pretty awesome!
 
Model 14s? I have a 14 and a 17 for each of my 3 grand kids. That should set them up for years and years of fun and practical shooting.
They don't come any better.
I'd say you did just fine.
 
I want a full underlug 4". I must have one. The 6" is nice, but a hair muzzle heavy to suit me. :)


As others have posted, ya did just fine, just fine. I love shooting my 6" 14-3. It is one I have had longer than most others.

Has anyone had any problems with (so called +p ammo) in these. S&W won't reply to an E-Mail, I'm sure for liabilty reasons. I'm sure factory ammo in 1977 was +p by today's standards. Thought's?

S&W states what ammo is suitable to shoot in the guns they sell. There is nothing in it for them to say go ahead and shoot something else.

If +P is nothing but yesterday's +0 you should be good to go. Not saying it is, but I've heard it is.
