Hi everyone. I was just looking for a bit of help today. I just purchased a Smith and Wesson Model 14-4 on the cheap and I was just wondering what the true value of this gun would be. I know it depends on the condition of the gun and other variables, but I am just looking for a neighborhood. The caliber of the gun is .38 S.&W. Special CTG. The barrel is 6". The grips are square. It's a six shot. It has an adjustable rear sight and a fixed front sight. The serial number is 19K9XXX. The firing pin is on the hammer. It has the original wood grips and the gun is in ~90% condition. No holster wear to mention! Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone and have a great day.

They are doing about $350 to $450 nowadays depending upon condition. For a 90% gun with 10% of the finish gone, then on the lower end of that.

The 14 is S&W's target model. They are very accurate and are usually smoother than more ordinary models. Enjoy!

Pictures would really help. I've seen some people call a gun 90% when others said it was at least 95% or better. If it doesn't have any holster wear what issues does it have? That said, I would expect to pay at least $400 for the gun you describe. If at a gun store/show I would think they would have it a little higher. JMO.

I would also say that the gun is worth $400, or more. S&W revolvers keep climbing in value.
